Since childhood, my favorite movie has been The Bishop’s Wife. So when Whitney Houston signed on with Courtney B. Vance & Denzel Washington to do the remake The Preacher’s Wife, my Mom took me to the theater on opening night.
Whitney sang numerous times throughout the film, but the song that’s never left me is her performance with the Georgia Mass Choir in “I Love The Lord.” And she did, deeply. The last song she sang publicly before leaving this world was her own rendition of “Jesus Loves Me.” How apropos. I like to think she’s sitting at the feet of Christ today singing & worshiping Him. Hallelujah.
